A legacy of educational excellence spanning nearly four decades. From 45 students in a sitting room to over 800 pupils in a modern facility - Trust God.
Wisdom Children's School is the brainchild of Rev. Sammy Necku, the Proprietor/Headteacher. After spending five years teaching at Grace Children's School in Lagos, Nigeria in the late 1970s and early 1980s, Sammy was deeply motivated by his students' positive response to his lessons. However, one concern troubled him greatly.
Whenever he came home on holiday, he realized that children in his community, including his own, could not communicate in English. This stark contrast with the education he was providing in Lagos compelled him to take action.
In December 1984, when the Lagos State Schools Management Board laid off many Ghanaian teachers, Sammy made a life-changing decision. Despite advice from friends, including Mr. Victor Odozie (Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria), to stay in Nigeria, he returned home to establish his own school.
In January 1985, Wisdom Children's School was born in Sammy's sitting and dining rooms in Agbozume, with 45 pupils and a school fee of ¢300. By February's end, enrollment reached 100 students, and by year's end, 400 pupils. Today, we serve over 800 students from Nursery through JHS.

Proprietor/Headteacher | Educator | Visionary Leader
Rev. Sammy Necku is the visionary founder of Wisdom Children School, Agbozume. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, he spent five years teaching at Grace Children's School in Lagos, Nigeria. During his time there, he was deeply troubled by the fact that his own children, unlike the pupils he taught in Lagos, could not communicate in English.
This personal challenge became his driving force. In December 1984, after being laid off by the Lagos State Schools Management Board, Rev. Necku made a bold decision that surprised his friends—he returned home to establish his own school instead of seeking another job in Nigeria.
In January 1985, Wisdom Children School was born in Rev. Necku's sitting and dining rooms with just 45 pupils. The response was overwhelming. By February, enrollment had reached 100 students, and by the end of the first academic year, the school had 400 pupils.

Key milestones that shaped Wisdom Children School into the institution it is today
Rev. Sammy Necku established Wisdom Children's School in his sitting and dining rooms in Agbozume with 45 pupils and a school fee of ¢300. By year's end, enrollment reached 400 students.
With community support, the school acquired adjacent land and constructed a one-storey building with six classrooms, three offices, and stores. The school became fully-fledged with nursery, kindergarten, and primary departments.
In our first participation in public schools' sports competition in the Agbozume zone, Wisdom surprised everyone by winning the athletics trophy and successfully defending it for many years thereafter.
Through the assistance of Mr. P.E.K. Sosu, another "Agege returnee" trained teacher, a junior secondary department was added, completing our comprehensive education from nursery through JHS.
In our first BECE with 38 candidates, Wisdom achieved 100% pass rate with 13 students scoring aggregate six, placing first in the entire Volta Region. Master Kwabla Adade won Best Pupil Award in Ketu District.
With over 800 students and a dedicated team of qualified teachers, we continue our mission of providing excellent education grounded in faith, preparing generations of future leaders.
